Women In the Church
The purpose of the W omen I n the C hurch (WIC) is that every woman know Christ personally
and be committed to extending His Kingdom in her life, home, church, community and throughout
the world.  The goal is that this purpose will become a reality as women are given opportunities
to respond to the Gospel and to pray, study the scriptures, fellowship and serve the Lord together.
All women who worship at Trinity are a part of WIC and indeed many of the ladies are involved
serving the Lord by leading the various ministries and committees.  A partial listing might include
Prayer Partners, Fellowship Coffee, Sunday Flowers, Baby Blanket Ministry, Meals on Wheels, and
more.  The ladies of Trinity are daily demonstrating "hands to work, hearts to God" by their
devotion to the work of the church joyfully done in the name of our glorious Savior, Jesus Christ.
On the second Tuesday of each month at 1:00 PM, WIC meets at the church building in the
fellowship hall for a time of Bible study, prayer, a brief business meeting, fellowship and
refreshments.  This year the study is Hope in Hard Times: Studies in the Book of Ruth by
 Harris Langford.
The W omen I n the C hurch are a vital part of Trinity Presbyterian Church with opportunities
for each woman to discern and exercise her gifts and abilities to the glory of God in the total
work and worship of the church.  If you have a desire to learn more about Trinity's WIC, please
come and join us for worship on Sunday, or attend one of our monthly meetings.

Women in the Church (WIC) Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, May 13th , 2008 - 1:00 PM

T.J. Brand opened the meeting with prayer.  Cherie Tracy provided a delicious strawberry cake for a snack. Twelve ladies were in attendance.

Cheryl Brown read the minutes of the April 8 th meeting which were approved with a couple of additions.  Treasurer's report was a balance of $186.31.

Old business: T.J. thanked Oz Karch for leading the lasting meeting in her absence. Also thanks to Rhoda Staker who chaired the bridal shower for Stephanie Staker and to Mary Fillman who chaired the bridal shower for Amy Blick. Thanks to all who helped with the wedding showers and to those who attended showing love and encouragement to the brides to be. The tables were beautifully decorated, delicious refreshments were served, and nice gifts were given. Abby Duncan 's wedding shower will be June 28 at 1:30 pm. Jaclyn Dellitt's shower date is yet to be set. Cherie will ask if Tara Collison needs meals provided. The J.O.Y. club is planning a summer outing. There was more discussion on ministering to shut-ins. T.J. reminded us to signup for cleanup after fellowship meals, for church refreshments and for VBS. Jan moved and Oz seconded the motion to change the nursery guideline ages from infant through 5 years to infant through 3 years. Jan volunteered to be in charge of organizing a picnic before the VBS program on Friday evening, July 25 th.

New business: T.J. read the minutes from the last Deacon's meeting about putting carpet in the basement. The women suggested indoor/outdoor carpeting, bound on the edges, and not wall-to-wall.

Carolyn McCrory suggested that we not have a booth at the Rhubarb Festival because it is so far ahead of VBS, but to have invitations handed out during Kid's Day at the county fair, July 9 th . She is looking for a volunteer to do this.

All ladies are invited to Vitale's restaurant this evening at 6:30 pm for dessert to get better acquainted with Lynda Raniero, Elaine Siebke, and Carolyn Cochran.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, June 10th, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Jan Dietmeier will be the hostess and Cheryl Brown will lead the Bible study from chapter 12 of our Ruth study book.

T.J. Brand led the Bible study from chapter 11. There was good discussion. T.J. closed the meeting with prayer.
